Hi I've been growing a my strawberry plants in a large planter for about a few months now, they are doing very well however, I do know that in the winter time i need to bring them inside because of root freezing since they are not in the ground, (Im in an apartment, so a garden is not an option) Someone told me that I should cut all the leaves off when i bring the plant inside for the winter, is this a good idea? also they said to place to planter in the garage where it wont freeze.
So what your opinion on what i should do when i bring my plants inside for the winter?

You should remove all old and dead leaves. In my opinion, you will have more success by replanting every year. The 2nd years' harvest will only be half of the 1st.

What do you mean by re-planting? As in new plants? cause i tried that one time and i always get slow producing plants with very small berries. I've been so far this year cutting off the runners and flowers for a better root system cause it helps with a larger production for the following year. Also how much of the leaf should i cut off? all the way down to the crown? or just close to the crown?

Just cut the leaves close to the crowns.
Container growing is the most difficult. Watering and feeding 1-3 times every day. If your only watering and feeding whenever berries and plants will be small.
