Q--
My June-bearing strawberries have runners with daughter plants growing all over the place. Most of the runners are about 6-8 inches long with with fairly well formed daughters and some have started to root themselves in the ground. Some of the daughters now have runners with daughters.

Do I need to start to lightly press the plantlets on the runners into the ground and tamp the soil down around the plantlet as stated in the planting guide? Or do I need to wait until around mid to late July as the guide states? And at what point do I need to start cutting off any additional runners that form?

A--
Start setting runners as soon as they form. Place 3-5 inches apart until bed is full. You can only get so many berries per sq/ft of row, so the thicker the planting the smaller the berries. For larger berries set runners 5-8 inches apart.
